a little trick...in black

I decided to initiate a little solidarity among my studio section, so we all dressed up like Roland Snooks for our pinup yesterday. I don't think he noticed, so perhaps next time we'll all have to wear pink instead?

super slacker

We are super slacking with this blog. But, I'd like to think that it's due to an immense immersion into architectural endeavors. Yeah, that's it. So, apologies, and I will try to get my colleagues to get their acts together. In the meantime, here's what the first year M.Arch I students have been up to.

oh snap! PINUP!

It's pinup day for us Post-Professional kids here at PD. We've been in a week-long workshop called "Intensive Digital Methods" and they were not lying about the intensive part. Today was the first time we've had the opportunity to see our colleagues work, so it was pretty neat to get a sense of the variety of interests and skills of everyone in the class. I was happy to see some hand drawings on the wall as well.

It's also funny how quickly you can get to know people when you're holed up in the same space all the time. Some of us got together last Friday before the chaos began(thank you Facebook!), and it's hard to believe we've only known each other a week, because I feel like I've known them for years!

Louis Kahn juicy PennDesign secret

Now that we have been in the studio for a few days, I have come to realize little juicy details about the design school. Apparently back when Louis Kahn was teaching at Penn, he never set foot in Meyerson Hall because he never got the commission for the building. Instead the Louis Kahn students were relocated at the Fisher Fine Arts Library and now there is an archive featuring his work in the library.
